NO SPRING CHICKENS

On April 22nd 2021 during lockdown, Longbridge Chess Club under the captaincy of Stephen Woodhouse; sealed victory versus Warwick University Alumni, which established Longbridge as West Midlands Area League Division 1 Champions. Longbridge Chess Club’s first ever trophy, albeit virtual – but a seventh trophy in recent years for a club thriving online despite having no home.

Kevin Hurney lost his first game, one of only two defeats in the 6-2 score-line; but bounced back with this win in the second game to keep us on track:
